About Us
The earthquake processes and geophysics group at UCR consists of an active and growing group of faculty, post-docs, and graduate students. Our interests are multidisciplinary and include:
Affiliations
We offer outstanding opportunities for participation in multi-institution projects in earthquake processes and geophysics. UC Riverside is a core member of the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC). SCEC is a consortium of 60 participating institutions dedicated to understanding earthquake phenomena in southern California with an emphasis on graduate and undergraduate research. We are a participating member of the Western North America Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (WInSAR) consortium. WInSAR facilitates collaboration in and advancement of earth science research using radar remote sensing. We are also affiliated with the Consortium on Material Properties Research in Earth Sciences (COMPRES). Unique opportunities for collaborative research and access to computational facilities exist through the UCR branch of the Institute of Geophysics and Planetary Physics (IGPP).
About UC Riverside
UCR offers a personalized environment for pursuing undergraduate training, graduate studies, and postdoctoral research. Riverside is within easy reach of Los Angeles, but without the congestion and housing costs associated with the metropolitan area. The campus lies at the gateway to the mountains, beaches and the deserts of southern California. Rich research opportunities for field studies abound just outside our doorstep!
