Student Opportunities!
I am always looking for motivated graduate students to join the Earthquake Physics group here at UCR. Most of my work uses the tools of seismology and remote sensing to examine a wide range of phenomena related to crustal deformation, faulting, and hydrologic effects (see Research section). Please e-mail me and check out the Department of Earth Sciences website if you are interested in applying or finding out more.
Research Group
Postdoctoral Researchers:
Dr. Mohamed Aly (Ph.D. Geology, Texas A&M University): Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) to study ground deformation and magmatic processes of the Yellowstone Caldera.
Dr. Ravi S. Jakka (Ph.D. Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology): Rapid earthquake source inversion using the back projection method.
Graduate Students:
Corrie Neighbors: Analysis of seismic hazard using precariously balanced rocks (PBRs), seismic amplification, and 3D seismic imaging (Neighbors_CV.pdf).
Tien-Huei Wang: Identification and analysis of tremor observed on continuous seismic network stations in southern California (Wang_CV.pdf).
